The Fun Factor

Why are things the way they are?  Oh, they take it all so seriously.  But that makes it more fun.

Fun,  Fun, Fun

Look at this, the world as it is. Is it the way we think we want it? Or is such failure of thought part of what we want?  This is what we want. We get what we want.  We are each of us God.   But we think we want something else.  The result, then, is that our efforts are opposed to our own true will.  That is, we labor to achieve what we think we want, rather than what we really want.   And..we fail to labor for what we really want. Assuming we actually want something other than we have. Now.

So what, as a society, are we working for?  And what are we not working for?  What do we really want?

But let's look at it from the point of view that we have what we want, (and that part of what we want is thinking we want something else.)  So why do we want what we have.  Why does anyone want anything?  Why do  you want something?  Because having it will be fun!  Why do people do anything?  Because doing it is fun. Everyone wants what is the most fun. Even those who sit and deny their desires are doing it for fun.  Even those who deny they are having fun are denying it for fun.  The entire spectrum of feeling and experience is for fun.  And since they are God, they get it.  I mean they get it.  Get it? Everyone is God.  God gets what He wants.  Everybody gets what they want.

And fun is the only way to describe it.  Admit it. Everything you do is for fun. Your job.   For fun. Don't like your job?  Still having fun. Maybe you like to bitch and moan about it. Feed those negative emotions. Fun, fun, fun.

Not enough money? In debt?  Think of the drama, living close to the edge.  For fun.  Like  your wife or husband?  Fun.  Don't like them?   You chose them.  For fun.  And then  you did things to the relationship, to make it unpleasant. For fun. Lonely?  Depressed?  Fun, fun, fun.   Rather be happy?  Good for you. Be happy. Have fun.

Don't like what's  going on on the TV? It's all there for you. For you.  For your entertainment. The news.  For your fun. Oh, you take it so seriously.  That's just to enhance the fun factor.  Many things are much more fun if  you take them seriously. Crime, politics, war, your job, bills, your debt,  Relationships.  The death of loved ones.  All these things You chose, with Your divine power. Hurt and confused?  Angry?  What fun.

Now thinking you wanted something else obviously enhances some of these things.  Think of the death of loved ones.  You're certainly not going to want to think you wanted them to die.   You would feel guilty.  But wait.  You do feel a little guilty.  Angry and sad.  Those negative emotions.  Fun.

How much better, more rewarding, more satisfying, to suffer with their death. How much more fun.

Crime.  How much more fun to take the drama seriously.  Isn't that the whole idea of drama.  Even fictionalized, you want to take it seriously.  And real life?  How much more satisfying to take the courtroom seriously. Of  course, the criminal is God. And of course, the victim is God.  Each getting what they wanted.  (And, yes, they got what they wanted.)  And the judge and the

lawyers and the jury, and the audience, er, spectators.  All God,  playing justice.  Having some serious fun.

How much more satisfying the deliberations of politicians, if we take them seriously.  How much more satisfying.  And Hospitals!  The doctor.  The patient.  The nurse.  The fun.  But take these things seriously.  It's more fun that way.

Yes.  Children are closer to the truth.  They at least know they are playing.

I'm not saying you shouldn't take things seriously.  I'm just saying that you should know it's all for the fun factor.  These are the things You want.  For fun.  It's all play.  High stakes. Pleasure and pain. Life and death.  Poverty and prosperity.

Bitter, bitter pill.  You say, "See, I cannot be God, because I cannot want these things."  I say,

"You do not want to believe you want these things, so you deny you are God, and pretend He is far, far away. You think Him a comfort in those difficult times, which you, being God, created for yourself.  Because you think it is more fun. But you thought it would be more fun to read this.  That particular fantasy has become faded and strained.  Time for some Truth.  Evil is because we want it.  It is more fun having it, than to be without it.  The light is more fun with the darkness beyond.  But not too dark.

So think if everything was sweetness and light.  If that is what you truly wanted.  Candyland. Yes. That's what it would be. Everything all sweet and sticky.  Soon you would be sick of it. Soon you would outgrow it.  And create a world of opposition and struggle.  For fun.

That's why heaven is so very far away.  No one really wants it, certainly not the caricature it is usually imagined to be. Heaven as freedom from want?  Most of us have that here.  But it is not enough.  People are always wanting more.

Heaven as freedom from wanting?   People do that here. They're called ascetics, though some of them just want more fun than the usual toys can provide.  You're  probably not an ascetic.  So you don't really want what they want, because you're not working for it.  So that's not your heaven.

Heaven as close to God?  But do you want to be close to God?  Do you want to meet Him face to face?  And in the mirror? Mundane and approachable? Would you be disappointed?  Do you not instead keep Him at a distance, so far away as to be... invisible? Powerful.  Awesome and mysterious. Oz, the Great and Powerful.  What fun.  More fun than to admit you are God.  You think?  More fun than to admit that you are getting what you want?  That your world of opposition and struggle is just your creation, to liven things up for you.  For more fun.  But then, only as much opposition and struggle as you want.   To maximize the fun factor.  Only as much danger and death and injury as you want.   Fun, fun, fun.

Heaven as getting what you want?  Everybody does get what they want.  Easy to say that here,  in America, but no less the truth, for everyone, everywhere. Everything, actually.  So everyone gets what they want.  That makes this heaven.   Unless we really want to get something else.

But look what we are doing to our future.  Is this what we want?  Look what our malapplied efforts are really doing. Is this our new idea of fun?  Look.  We build prisons, then make criminals to fill them.   Yes.  We make them. We're God  We have created the circumstances, caused the laws, that flood our streets with drugs, drugs We have created, and forge the gangs to make those streets unsafe. At the same time, We spend a  half trillion or so a year on the other side of the planet, because we think the people over there will bother us if We left them alone. Meanwhile, We cannot lay one death on our shores to the people We are actually fighting.  We reward caperers and clowns with millions, while those who labor to support us, We increasingly give short shrift. We allow thieves in high places.  They do not love us.  They hold our prosperity, and our government, hostage, and We reward their evil with unparalleled wealth, even as they plot again to defraud us. Our infrastructure crumbles, while more and more men sit idle.  Work must be done, but the right hand clasps the left.  Ours is a house divided, yet we go about our daily rounds as if nothing was wrong, expecting it to stand. Do we tire of our civilization? We imagine we look for courage and action, and we get paralysis. Our true desire, unless we change it. Oh, how much more fun to deny our accountability, and look to Daddy God to save us because we refuse to grow into our responsibility.

And there is the good stuff.  Not Candyland, for sure, which you don't really want anyway, but still, room for pleasure and happiness, if you make it.  You are God, after all.  If you want the good stuff, you get it.  Get it?  You get what you want.  Get it?

Why are things the way they are?  Things are the product of our will. We are God. There is no one else. Only God. This is the way we made it. This is the way we want it. Now.  If we want things differently, we can change them.  But it is important to know that it is up to us.  'God' is not going to come around and rescue us from our folly.  We're Him.  Our folly is divine will, or We can change it and get it together and get constructive.  So what do We really want?  For fun, I mean.
